Students for Life

I was so proud to be part of the protest against Cecile Richards yesterday at Trinity College. I’m an American student studying for my degree at TCD, and I felt it was particularly important to show my disgust with the actions of Planned Parenthood under Richards. In her twelve years as president and CEO, Planned Parenthood was found guilty by a US Senate Committee for illegally trafficking the body parts of aborted babies*, and in total aborted 3.8 million American children.** Those were my potential classmates, coworkers, and friends. I am disappointed that the Philosophical Society would award this so-called human rights activist a medal and ask her to speak.

We had a lot of positive interactions yesterday on campus, and a few people even got in touch with the TCD Life Soc page to ask how they can get involved with us as students. It was a great testament to what peaceful protests can accomplish. Ironically, we were doing what Cecile Richards advised the audience of her talk to do: get organized, stand up against injustice, and make trouble. And we’re going to keep making trouble for the abortion industry!
